Scott Sessions is a native of Columbus County and was born in Columbus County Hospital in Whiteville. He graduated from Hallsboro High School and North Carolina State University in Raleigh, Cum Laude, with a Batchelor Of Science degree in Agricultural Education. After teaching Vocational Agriculture for a period of time, Scott continued his education at Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina, graduating with a Juris Doctor degree, and has been licensed to practice law in North Carolina since 1991.
Scott practiced in the law firm of Willis And Sessions in Whiteville from 1991 until 1999, at which time he joined The McGougan Law Firm and has practiced with the firm since then. His practice areas include real estate (deeds, closings, etc.), special proceedings (incompetencies, adoptions, etc.), wills and estates, business matters (contracts, corporations, LLCs, etc.), and criminal and traffic matters. He is Town Attorney for the Towns of Fair Bluff, Lake Waccamaw, Bolton, and East Arcadia, all in Southeastern North Carolina.
Scott resides in Lake Waccamaw with his wife and they have three daughters, all in various stages of education, from high school to graduate school. He is active in his church and community. He has served as Chair of the Lake Waccamaw Planning Board and as Chair of the Administrative Council at Lake Waccamaw Methodist Church for many years. Scott has also served as President of both the Columbus County Bar and the 13thJudicial District Bar. He enjoys outdoor activities and is an avid sportsman.
